Country Director - Marie Stopes Zambia

About the role
We are recruiting a Country Director for our Zambia programme. Based in Lusaka, the Country Director will be the most senior representative, working closely with governments, donors and other key stakeholders to deliver essential family planning and reproductive health care services, and empowering women to choose when they have their children.
Along with a dedicated senior management team, you will work with donors and the government to continue to ensure the high-quality and efficiency of operations in Zambia's 3 urban youth centres, 20 social franchises, 7 outreach teams, a rapidly expanding social marketing programme and a workforce of c. 70.
As the Country Director you will take a skilled professional country team forward amidst a changing political and funding landscape, valuing and rewarding high performance, accountability, speed and efficiency and innovation, while keeping the client at the heart of everything you do. You will lead in the development of new business opportunities overseeing financial, administrative and logistical resources; and ensuring adherence to MSI minimum standards; and assuring quality operations in line with annual and long-term strategic goals and objectives.
About You
We see the successful candidate bringing to the role an understanding of the development sector and an entrepreneurial approach. You will have had experience in an organisation to the scale of Marie Stopes Zambia and experience working with European Donors.
In addition, you will have worked challenging environments as well as designed and delivered strategic and annual business plans and income generation through donor funding, and/or commercial activities. You will have financial and reporting management experience, to include managing and improving the bottom line and the ability to generate, track and analyse management information and client data to inform management decision-making. In addition you will be a motivational leader with strong communication skills with the ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders, as well as motivated to deliver tangible results for the organisation and to manage change successfully.
