Finance Officer
Location: Lusaka
Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer, the Finance Officer will be responsible for day-to-day project accounting functions. This will include, but is not limited to, processing and recording transactions, submitting monthly financial reports and funds requests, and processing staff payroll. This position will report to the Finance Manager.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of payment vouchers, payment receipts and General Journals
  • Records, classifies & summarizes accounting transactions. Spearhead the posting of entries into QuickBooks and ensure that all information is input accurately and reviewing adjusting entries as needed
  • Compiles various documents, verifies their accuracy of itemized charges, account numbers and total costs. Preparation of the monthly financial package to be submitted to DC office.
  • Monitoring and reconciliation of the payables and receivable accounts.
  • Assist in monitoring of the cash position of the foundation to ensure availability of funds for program implementation. Assist in preparation of a consolidated cash request to submit to HQ on a monthly basis based on the activity based budgets.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets and budget monitoring
  • Internal control strengthening and assist in risk management of the finance unit.
Required Qualifications
  • ACCA or CIMA part 2, Bachelors Degree in Finance
  • At least 4 years working experience
