Training Officer
Location: Choma, Southern Province
Position Summary:
Reporting to the EHR – SmartCare Program Officer, The EHR – SmartCare Training Officer (SMACHT) will facilitate the EHR -SmartCare trainings for SMACHT, supporting the development of training materials, liaise with team members with regards to training activities, and work in conjunction with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other related cooperating partners.  He/she will also work closely with counterpart staff in service specific training activities.
The Training Officer shall be responsible for ensuring adequate training for health care workers as well as community health workers.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and ensure high quality  training for HCWs and CHWs for the SMACHT project
  • Participate in technical support visits to health facilities and provide on-the-job training to HCWS and CHWs as needed
  • Participate in training materials development .This will include manuals, videos, help aids, tutorials and IEC materials
  • Develop and maintain a training database for all SmartCare trainings under the project
Required Experience
  • Training and mentoring experience
  • Understanding of Zambian health  system is an advantage
  • Experience building capacity of health care workers and mentorship
  • 3-5 years of experience in  public health with minimum of 3 years in Zambia an advantage
Required Qualifications/Skills
  • Computer Science Degree
  • Highly computer literate in MS Office products with exposures to information management systems
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Highly organized and detailed orientated
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Able to communicate in diverse working environments
  • Able to represent the organization to local, national and international partners & stakeholders
  • Good team player
