Zambia Land Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Land Specialist will be responsible for supporting all elements of program implementation, particularly ensuring data and process quality control with local partners, consolidating lessons learned for adaptive management, supporting logistics and organization of forums and events, carrying out monitoring and evaluation functions; and leading the development of policy briefs, as well as training and outreach materials. Frequent travel (25-40%) to Eastern and Northern Provinces is expected. The Land Specialist may be responsible for supporting office administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of customary and state land issues in Zambia.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Previous experience writing policy briefs and interacting with district and provincial government, as well as traditional authorities.
• Experience supporting local governance institutions.
• Experience monitoring and building capacity of local NGOs and/or civil society organizations.
• Experience organizing consultative forums and events.
• Experiences with mapping and geospatial platforms is preferred.
• Facilitation skills are preferred.
• Excellent computer skills are required.
• University degree in natural resource management, economics, social sciences, law or other disciplines related to land management and administration.
