WE ARE HIRING – Social Media and Public Relations Associate (1), Lusaka
Job Description
The ideal candidate will implement the companies’ social media strategies, develop brand awareness, generate inbound traffic and cultivate leads and sales using both offline and online marketing strategies. He/she must be highly motivated and enthusiastic to work with an early stage start-up and adaptive to change. He/she will have experience and passion for content strategy, blogging and community participation leadership. The ideal candidate will be working with a small and vibrant team – this position is suitable for recent graduates and young professionals with strong writing skills, attention to detail and previous experience.
Essential Duties
Online Marketing
  • Manage social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) including daily monitoring, posting and content development
  • Create weekly promotions to drive sales online in line with commercial plans
  • Coordinate and implement social media marketing communication projects including social media advertising and creating brand awareness online
  • Prepare status reports on social media efforts and success rates
  • Help identify opportunities that will promote growth on social media sites
  • Work closely with the Web team to ensure we’re fully leveraging the website for maximum impact/results 
Offline Marketing
  • Coordinate offline marketing and sales efforts with the direction of the Country Manager
  • Build awareness in key audience including prospective home buyers, agents and developers.
  • Help prepare content for offline channels including radio, newspapers, magazines etc. 
Press/Media
  • Working with central team in Europe, help coordinate media opportunities.
  • Build relationships with local press and create opportunities to promote the Lamudi brand
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Communication, Journalism or Marketing an asset 
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent writing skills, with an eye for proofreading and grammar
  • Excellent skills in using all Microsoft Office programs 
  • Experience analyzing data, developing insights and research reports
  • Internet and technology savvy with an understanding of chat rooms, blogs, social networking sites and consumer communities.
  • Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in social media
  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application. Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn Instagram) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Is a team player and able to follow instructions as well as take lead when necessary 
  • Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
