Study Physician

Job Title: Study Physician
Zambart is a research-based non-governmental organisation that conducts health research on issues of public health importance, including the dual epidemics of TB and HIV in Zambia. Research conducted by Zambart takes place within the health facility, laboratory, as well as the community, Zambart is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic physician with an interest ¡n clinical research to participate ¡n a TB vaccine trial as the resident Study Physician.
Position Summary
This position will offer an exciting opportunity for a clinician interested in pursuing a career in clinical research. The post-holder will be responsible for coordinating research that is based within designated health facilities and will involve screening of patients for eligibility for enrolment in studies, participating ¡n the management of patients, follow up of patients and ensuring the completion of all relevant study procedures. The successful candidate will be provided with all necessary training and opportunities for further studies (in clinical trials or epidemiology) will be made available through distance learning during the course of the study. Development of further studies and higher training will be positively encouraged.
The position will report to the Director of Research.
Requirements
  • A Medical Degree (MB ChB or equivalent)
  • In possession of a 2015 Practicing License from the Health Professions council of Zambia
  • At least 3 years practical clinical experience
  • Prior experience with clinical research will be an added advantage
  • Computer literate
  • Neat and attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm for research
This post is initially for a period of 2 years renewable subject to performance and availability of funding.
