TITLE: Technical Advisor
LOCATION: Positions may be based centrally in Lusaka or regionally throughout Zambia.
The Elizabeth G laser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader ¡n the fight against pediatric t-11V and AIDS, working in 15 countries and at over 5,500 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to care for those already infected.
Job Summary
Overview:
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) intends to recruit senior-level technical advisors for various management and leadership positions on an anticipated USAID-funded HIV/AIDS service delivery project. The technical advisors would support the design, implementation, management, coordination, and oversight of program activities in areas including: pediatric and adult care and treatment; prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT); TB/HIV; and provider-initiated HIV counseling and testing (PIHCT). The position and specific responsibilities will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and years of experience. All positions are contingent upon award and USAID concurrence.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely implementation of programmatic activities;
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent technical activities and trainings;
  • Contribute updates, data, and results to technical reports to donor;
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders, other implementing partners, and local entities;
  • Support management, planning , and development of work plan;
  • Provide technical leadership in the following areas: pediatric and adult care and treatment; PMTCT; TB/HIV; and PIHCT;
  • Depending on position, oversee technical advisors and other project staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Higher education degree (PhD) MD, MPH or other relevant degree) required; MD with a MPH or similar strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years progressively increasing responsibility ¡n the design, management, and implementation of large HIV/AIDS programs; at least five years of clinical experience in HIV/AIDS, including HIV/AIDS care and treatment, PMTCT. and HIV/TB co-infection.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical support and capacity building to government
    stakeholders and implementing partners in Zambia.
  • Experience with USG programs; knowledge of USAID rules and regulations related to contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience building partnership and consensus within teams.
  • Excellent communication skills; fluency in written and spoken English.
