Zambia Centre for Communication Programmes (ZCCP) is a not- for-profit, locally based multi-media communications organization, which uses the power of the mass media (Radio, TV and Print) and social mobilisation to reach the Zambian population and to affect social and behaviour change, has the following positions to be filled.
ZCCP has received funding from USAID and DFID/UKAid to support the Stamping out and Preventing Gender Based Violence- Prevention and Advocacy Project.
1. REGIONAL PROGRAMME COORDINATOR-NORTHERN REGIONAL OFFICE (1 POSITION) – TO BE BASED IN KITWE
Successful candidate will coordinate 7 districts in the following provinces Copperbelt, North-Western, Luapula, Northern and Muchinga and will be reporting to the GBV Project Manager.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating local communities and stakeholders in planning for outreach activities in line with the Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Advocacy, and Elimination of Child Mamagos in Zambia project.
- Facilitating community mobilization for the prevention of GBVIECM, and capacity building for vulnerable women,girls, men and boys.
- Support local communities, GBV One Stop Centres, DDCC, PDCC, relevant ministries and other stakeholders in order to strengthen capacity in the prevention of GBV/ECM.
- At district and provincial level, become the link with GV Survivor Support, and Access to Justice implementers.
- Provide oversight and monitoring of GBV project activities in liaison with the Research Officer and Planning Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Specialist.
- Submitting timely narrative and financial reports in provided format to GBV Project Manager,
- Supervising local staff
- Work with minimum supervision
Job Requirements
- Degree in Social sciences with bias to Gender studies, public administration or development studies.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience implementing and developing social/economic programmes.
- Knowledge in gender programming a must.
- Good communication skills, with good spoken and written English. Good understanding and communication of at least Bemba.
DATA MANAGEMENT OFFICER (1 POSITION) – LUSAKA
Reporting to the Planning, Evaluation and Learning Specialist (PMEL) duties will include:
- Train and support program staff and partners on the use of monitoring tools and guidelines
- Periodically monitor progress against agreed indicators in the performance Monitoring and Evaluation plan
- Provide support ¡n data collection, verification and data entry for updating the project Data Base
- Monitoring utilization of programme resources including funds and equipment
- Document on a regular basis lessons learnt on various project interventions by programme staff
- Participate in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and preparation of clear, concise and accurate reports
- Filing of program and financial information
Competencies
- Have skill in designing Monitoring and Evaluation tools and techniques including expertise in analyzing data
using statistical software - Have strong knowledge on Action Research
- Exhibit cultural, gender and age sensitivity
- Display excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Team working and able to work without supervision
Qualifications:
- University degree in any one of the following: Statistics, Development Studies, Demography, Social Work, Public
- Health or any other Social Sciences
- Postgraduate training in Monitoring and Evaluation is an added advantage.
- Skills and experience in data collection and data assessment/evaluation
- Previous working experience with establishing and / or operating M&E systems
- Experience working on USAID/PEPFAR funded projects is preferred
- Proficient in the use of computer applications especially MS Word and Excel
- Experience working with statistical packages such as SPSS and STATA
