HEAD TEACHER
The Head Teacher shall be responsible for managing school activities at an assigned school within Lusaka District; monitoring teacher’s performance against set standards; ensuring that discipline and order is observed in both staff members and pupils; providing guidance and counseling to pupils and; making sure that the school acquires and properly manages all the needed and or allocated resources. The Job Holder might in addition be expected to teach a class, and undertake any responsibility as may be delegated to him or her by his or her supervisor.
Responsibilities
• Administrate and manage the operations of the school; Monitor and evaluate school performance against standards
• Provide guidance and counseling; Manage Teachers performance
• Manage the school - parent relationship
Minimum Qualifications
• A minimum of Diploma in Education. A Diploma in Management will be an added advantage; Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills
• Good management and leadership skills; Highly self-motivated and flexible individual who is able to work with huge workloads
• 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
• Computer literate
SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER
Secondary school teachers will teach one or two national curriculum subjects to pupils. Secondary school teachers must keep up to date with developments in their subject area, new resources, methods and national objectives. The role involves liaising and networking with other professionals and guardians, both informally and formally.
Responsibilities
• preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes
• marking work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of pupils' progress and development;
• researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devising and writing new curriculum materials;
• selecting and using a range of different learning resources and equipment, including interactive whiteboards;
• preparing pupils for Grade 9 examinations;
• undertaking pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties;
• participating in and organising extracurricular activities, such as outings, social activities and sporting events;
Minimum Qualifications
• A minimum of Diploma in Secondary Education.
• Highly self-motivated and flexible individual who is able to work with huge workloads
• 1 year of relevant experience in a similar capacity
• Computer literate
PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS
The Job Holder shall be expected to develop lesson plans, scheme his or her work, teach and assist the children in their learning needs, make sure that learning takes place in a clean school environment, and set exams for the pupils. The Job Holder shall also be expected to conduct extracurricular activities that will help children grow and shall also be expected to guide and counsel the children through academic, career, social, motivational/ spiritual talks, and any other ethically and or morally upright way. The Job Holder shall in addition be expected to undertake any responsibility as may be delegated by his or her supervisor.
Responsibilities
• Developing Lesson Plans; Developing Schemes of Work
• Teaching and coaching the pupils; Manage and Evaluate children’s progress.
• Creating a conducive learning environment; Conduct co- and extracurricular activities
• Provide guidance and counseling to the children
Minimum Qualifications
• A minimum of Primary Teacher’s Certificate; Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills
• Ability to meet deadlines; Highly Motivated and Flexible, and able to manage children
• A course in guidance and counseling will be an added advantage
• 1 year relevant experience
