Legal Officers job in Zambia

The judicial Complaints Authority (JCA) is a statutory body establish by the
Judicial(code of code) Act No 13 of 1999 as amended by the judicial(code of conduct)Amendment Act No.13 of 2006.The Act requires judicial officers to conduct themselves in accordance with code of conduct. The Authority has been established to enforce the Code of Conduct. Members of the Judicial Complaints Authority are appointed by the subject to ratification by National Assembly. The secretary to the Authority is also appointed by the president. The Authority receives grants from the Government to enable it perform its statutory duties. The Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified Zambians to fill in the position of;
Legal Officer (2 Positions)
Reports to: Secretary to the Authority
Main Duties
• Undertakes thorough research in order to facilitate informed decision
• making
• Provides timely legal documentation in order to facilitate investigations
• Prepares legal opinions for the Members of the Authority
• Maintains an accurate up-to-date database at reported complaints in order to facilitate and easy retrieval of information
Qualifications
• Candidate must be Zambian with minimum age of 25 years
• Degree in law
• Current legal Practitioner’s’ Practicing Certificate
• Three (3) years post admission experience
• Excellent communication skills as the job entails reports writings
