Job Title: Micro-Finance Coordinator ZFIP Project – Central Programme Unit (1 position – 1 year 6 months contract)

Plan is looking for innovative, motivated self starter individuals to fill the following vacancies:
Micro-Finance Coordinator ZFIP Project – Central Programme Unit (1 position – 1year 6 months contract)
The position of Micro-finance Coordinator exists to support Zambia Financial Inclusion Project (ZFIP) with in Plan International Zambia’s Economic Empowerment Country Programme in line with the Country Strategic Plan. This is aimed at empowering individual, households and communities economically to better support their children. The position looks at all the activities of the project (including but not limited to; community mobilization, capacity building of project Community Development Facilitators as well as Village Agents.  He/she will be reporting to the Economic Empowerment Programme Manager and will be responsible for:
  • Building the capacity of staff and Village agents VSLA methodology and other skills to implement the project
  • Support the development and implementation of Detailed implementation Plans (DIPs).
  • Writing of project case stories, narrative and financial reports.
  • Organization of review and planning meeting for all stakeholders of the project.
  • Development of materials for capacity building of staff Village Agents and groups
  • Maintaining data at Program Unit  level of all beneficiaries and savings groups and those undergoing various trainings.
  • Participating in national, regional and other international Micro finance initiatives.
  • Participating in community consultative processes  (needs assessments and appraisals).
  • Effective  planning, coordination,  and implementation of the project
Qualifications and experience:
  • Minimum qualification; Degree in development work or related fields.
  • 3 – 4 years practical experience working with community based savings groups (VSLAs) in a development organization.
  • Must possess proven ability to create good working relationships with partners, donors, NGO’S and relevant line Ministries
  • He/she should demonstrate good skills in M&E and working with the savings group Management Information System (MIS).
  • Excellent public speaking and writing skills
  • Ensure project budget and expenditure is tracked and reported.
  • Experience in  grants reporting
  • Excellent facilitation skills
