Program Coordinator Economic Empowerment –Central Programme Unit

Job Title: Program Coordinator Economic Empowerment –Central  Programme Unit (1 Position- 3 Years contract)

Working in Zambia since 1996, Plan’s development and capacity building programmes focus primarily on education, health and sanitation, economic empowerment, and child protection and participation. Plan’s work is guided by our Child-Centered Community Development (CCCD) approach. Plan International Zambia has programme units in: Central, Luapula, Eastern,province  and in Lusaka, where the Country Office (CO) is located.
Plan is looking for innovative, motivated self starter individuals to fill the following vacancies:
  1. Program Coordinator Economic Empowerment –Central  Programme Unit (1 Position- 3 Years contract)
Reporting to the Programme Manager Economic Empowerment, He/She coordinates implementation of the Empowerment Programme in line with the programme goals and the Child Centred Community Development approach at PU level.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Appraising, planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of economic empowerment projects
  • Documentation, reporting and dissemination of outcomes and impact of projects
  • Technical support and supervision of projects
  • Mobilisation, effective utilisation and management of project resources
  • Ensuring Plan’s CCCD and child protection principles are fulfilled during appraisal, planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating and reporting of projects
  • Contributing to strategic leadership of the Programme Unit
  • Establishing partnerships with NGOs and government entities to leverage resources, increase local resource mobilization and ensure long term sustainability
  • Ensuring that monitoring and evaluations and reporting of projects are effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications and experience:
  • Degree level qualification in Agriculture or Development Studies and other related disciplines
  • 3-4  years practical experience in NGO in community Development/Program coordinator capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in managing community projects
  • Highly effective networking and inter-personal skills
  • Experience in writing project and programme proposals and grants reporting
