MDT Nutrition Analyst

The World Food Programme (WFP). the food assistance organization of the United Nations is seeking applications from qualified national candidates to fill the following position(s):
Post Title: MDT Nutrition Analyst
Post Grade: G6

Duty Station: Lusaka, Zambia
The MDT Nutrition Analyst will be mainly responsible for the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strong Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Business Network brand and membership
  • Recruit ind retain high profile & committed SUN Business Network members from Zambia’s private sector and other key partners
  • Plan and organise regular meetings, networking activities, workshops & ocher events
  • Increase commercial engagement in the nutrition market
  • Develop and share nutrition market information with members of the SUN Business Network, through research, stakeholder interviews and field trips
  • Support members ¡n developing proposals to seek funding for nutrition initiatives
  • Improve the nutrition regulatory environment, including liaising with relevant government stakeholders to share private sector challenges and opportunities and advocate for policy change where needed
  • Improve nutrition distribution partnerships, including linkages between SUN Business Network members,and provide up to date distribution information to reduce distribution challenges for nutrition products
  • Improve nutrition in the business community through advocacy and encouragement, as part of everyday SBN activities, for workplace health and nutrition programmes
  • Carry out other tasks, as required, to support the day-to-day activities of WFP’s engagement with the private sector on nutrition in Zambia
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in business management, international development or related field
  • 2 years experience in project management, analyst role and business processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point skills

Candidates Requirements
  • BA/BS degree\ MBA degree, with a Finance focus will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 8 years of related work experience
  • Experience in leading the execution of an extensive variety of client transactions covering the full advisory and capital raising spectrum (CRM roles)
  • Advanced knowledge of industry, market, and products
  • Proven ability to develop, nurture and monetize “trusted advisor” client relationships with senior executives (CRM & Trade/Cap roles)
  • Excellent interpersonal style, good listening skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely
  • Strong partnering and leadership skills in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Moderate experience in mentoring and coaching

To receive and screen telephone calls and visitors in order to direct same to appropriate officials thereby minimize interruption to staff from unnecessary calls and visitors.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • Certificate or Diploma in Secretarial and/or a relevant marketing or public relations-field will be an added advantage

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates a telephone switch board to receive/transmit screen and connect callers to the intended recipients in and outside of the Institution.
  • Receives visitors calling in person on official or personal business, screens same, informs officials of such visitors and directs them to the officials as requested.
  • Takes messages from telephone and personal callers and on behalf of staff out of office and communicates same to staff concerned.
  • Types documents of a confidential nature such as letters, minutes, notes and handwritten manuscripts for staff and submits typed copies to originating officials for approval.
  • Makes appointments and books accommodation by phone on behalf of staff as directed and confirms same with the concerned officials.
  • Attends to visitors by providing relevant data and brochures/leaflets and assists clients/visitors on how to
    complete various forms.
  • Serves tea, soft drinks and snacks during meetings and carries out any other related duties as directed by supervisor.
    Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Study Physician

Job Title: Study Physician
Zambart is a research-based non-governmental organisation that conducts health research on issues of public health importance, including the dual epidemics of TB and HIV in Zambia. Research conducted by Zambart takes place within the health facility, laboratory, as well as the community, Zambart is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic physician with an interest ¡n clinical research to participate ¡n a TB vaccine trial as the resident Study Physician.
Position Summary
This position will offer an exciting opportunity for a clinician interested in pursuing a career in clinical research. The post-holder will be responsible for coordinating research that is based within designated health facilities and will involve screening of patients for eligibility for enrolment in studies, participating ¡n the management of patients, follow up of patients and ensuring the completion of all relevant study procedures. The successful candidate will be provided with all necessary training and opportunities for further studies (in clinical trials or epidemiology) will be made available through distance learning during the course of the study. Development of further studies and higher training will be positively encouraged.
The position will report to the Director of Research.
Requirements
  • A Medical Degree (MB ChB or equivalent)
  • In possession of a 2015 Practicing License from the Health Professions council of Zambia
  • At least 3 years practical clinical experience
  • Prior experience with clinical research will be an added advantage
  • Computer literate
  • Neat and attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm for research
This post is initially for a period of 2 years renewable subject to performance and availability of funding.
