ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING
The Division of Country Programmes (DCP) is responsible for coherence and impact of ITC's programmes at the country and regional levels. The five regional sections within ITC maintain close relations to partners in ITC's programme countries to ensure a demand-led approach for all projects. The sections coordinate throughout the project cycle in the design, implementation and monitoring of projects.
The Export Strategy section (DCP/ES) supports design and implementation management of national, sectorial, functional and regional strategies, facilitated through public-private sector dialogue, and rooted in strong value-chain diagnostics.
The objectives of the section are to work collaboratively with national stakeholders in designing successful export strategies, and to establish ITC as the global thought leader in export strategy design and management and export competitiveness. Over the past 10 years, ITC has facilitated over 50 export strategies in 40 countries, as well as a number of multi- country strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Secretary and under the general guidance of the Chief, Export Strategy, the incumbent
- Initiates, follows-up and completes administrative tasks such as recruitment of consultants, travel, payment of consultants, memoranda of understanding and authorization of field expenditures.
- Prepares travel authorizations and travel advances;
- requests for contractors; requisitions for contracts goods and services;
- invoices and requests for payment.
- Maintains and updates calendars, filing systems of the Section and supports network communications.
- Screens incoming correspondence and ensures follow-up action on pending issues according to deadlines and priorities.
- Drafts routine correspondence, types, proofreads, revises and formats various documents and prepares presentations.
- In the absence of supervisors, ensures that pending issues are duly carried through.
- Provides assistance with the organization, logistics and follow-up of the different workshops and events within the Section and in the field.
- Ensures that all duties are performed in coordination with other related secretarial staff.
- Performs other secretarial and administrative duties as required.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA EDUCATION
- Completed secondary school or technical or commercial school equivalent, preferably supplemented by training or courses in a related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of three years of increasingly responsible secretarial and/or clerical experience in programme or project administration, office administration, administrative/financial work or a related field.
LANGUAGES
- Advanced knowledge of English with a working knowledge of French.
- Knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and other office automation tools. Knowledge of IMIS and Project Portal is desirable.

TERMS OF SERVICE
Appointments with ITC are service-limited to this organization. The conditions of service are governed by the United Nations Staff Rules and Regulations. This is a fixed term appointment.
INDICATIVE ANNUAL SALARY AT THE G-X LEVEL
Annual Salary (net of tax) CHF 68,611 at single rate, with annual increments subject to performance. For further information please consult the International Civil Service Commission website: http://icsc.un.org
