Deputy Chief of Party - Zambia Open Doors

CAMRIS is currently in currently seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) to serve on the proposed USAID/Zambia Open Doors RFA. The Purpose and Goal of this RFA is toto increase access to and use of comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment services by key populations in targeted provinces of Zambia. The development hypothesis underlying Open Doors is that focusing on
the provision of comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment services to key populations, and increasing access to and uptake of high-impact services, together with promotion of sexual risk reduction, condoms and lubricants, will substantially contribute to the overall goal of reducing new HIV infections in Zambia and progress towards achieving an AIDS-free
generation.
Geographic Scope: Open Doors is expected to work primarily in communities along the major transport corridors in PEPFAR high-priority districts. Prioritization of districts will be based on criteria that will be developed jointly among USAID, the implementing partner, civil society and relevant Zambian government entities. Factors to consider may include: HIV prevalence,
population size and density, behavioral indicators and the presence of other HIV prevention programs. Selection of districts will be finalized after the award.
  • The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) directly assists the COP in activity implementation and management. The DCOP shall have complementary technical skills and experience to the COP.
  • The DCOP shall report directly to the COP, and will take over leadership and oversight of the

  • Master’s Degree or higher in public health, social/behavioral sciences, or equivalent
    field;
  • Minimum five years of progressively increasing responsibility working in public health
    in the areas of health communication, promotion, and/or education, with an emphasis on
    HIV prevention;
  • Demonstrated management skills, including relevant experience in direct supervision of
    professional staff;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and sustain professional relationships, and to work
    collaboratively with host government agencies, civil society and community-based
    organizations, and other donors
  • Depth and breadth of knowledge of and experience in HIV prevention, care and support
    for key populations.
  • Strong organizational skills including task and time management
