The Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC(CEC)is an independent power transmission and distribution company with interests in closely linked businesses in Zambia and the Africa region.

Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to take up the following position;

To perform system operations function on all electrical equipment connected to the Copperbelt grid network under normal emergency conditions in order to maintain continuity of power supply to CEC customers.

• To analyze faulty condition by reeding relays and physical check and isolate faulty apparatus from the rest of the system
• Checking energy meters and ensure that they are operating correctly by observing and reading the metres,for billing purpose and that the consumers are getting the right supplies
• To regularly carry out trip tests in order to check ,ascertain and validate the integrity of protection schemes and associated equipment so as to security of supply to CEC customers and business partners and also safety of personal and apparatus
• Conduct substation checks to ensure that all work and operations are in accordance with system/mining regulations
• Ensure that all standby apparatus equipment are in good working order for use in emergency situations
• Carry out faulty finding on substation DC,and 300 volts and protective gear circuits and arrange for the repairs of defectives ones.
• Ensure that submission drawings and electricals writing diagram are accurate,upto to date, readily available and in good condition to facilitate relevant engineering work
• To maintain tidiness and cleanliness of the substation surroundings
• Facilitate the training of employees and consumers on high voltage switching

• Full grade twelve certifcate
• Craft Technician or Advanced certificate in Power electrical from a recognized institution
• 3 years switching / operating experience in electricity transmission and distribution
• Must hold minimum Authorisation Entitlement according to CEC systems regulations
• Good knowledge of electrical theory and practice governing the operation of electrical power system
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and minimal oversight
• Must be a member of EIZ
