Temporary Logistics and Procurement Officer

Concern Worldwide is an International humanitarian NGO working in Zambia since 2002. Concern’s Programmes focus on the extreme poor and work to improve nutrition, increase agricultural production, empower women and promote livelihood security and resilience in Central and Western Provinces. We are currently looking to recruit a Temporary Logistics and Procurement Officer to be based in our head office in Lusaka for 8 months. Concern is an equal opportunity employer and would welcome applications from qualified women.
Job purpose: The post holder will manage the logistics function at the Lusaka head office as well as provide technical support and guidance to all Concern field offices in the areas of logistics and procurement. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all logistics systems and regulations in line with Concern policies and manuals.
Main duties and responsibilities:
  • To manage the Lusaka stores, including overseeing receipt and dispatch of items and maintenance of all required documentation.
  • To arrange transportation of materials and supplies to other Concern offices.
  • To manage the procurement process and ensure that relevant policies and guidelines are complied with.
  • To ensure that relevant information and clarification is provided to the Purchase Committee in a timely manner.
  • To maintain all procurement files and ensure that regular updates are provided to all relevant departments and field offices.
  • To oversee the annual process of establishing the list of pre-qualified suppliers.
  • To manage the fixed asset register in collaboration with the Finance Department.
  • To prepare monthly procurement and logistics reports.
Requirements:
  • A graduate qualification in a relevant subject (Management, Logistics, Administration) with minimum 3 years experience in a similar role preferably with an International NGO. Or;
  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supply with minimum 5 years experience.
  • Paid up membership with ZIPS.
  • Good level of computer literacy, and knowledge of MS Office Suite 2010 especially Ms Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and report writing skills.
  • Solid experience of staff management.
