 ELECTRO MECHANICAL ENGINEER (EME)
An international engineering firm invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to submit applications to fill the following positions. All positions are on a full time limited duration contract for a period not exceeding 2 years.  The work will be based in or around Lusaka. Only Zambian citizens who meet the minimum requirements stated below will be considered. Local market related remuneration will be negotiated only with the selected candidates.
ELECTRO MECHANICAL ENGINEER (EME)
  • BSc or BEng Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Electro-Mechanical) or similar.
  • Registered with EIZ.
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years design and construction related experience in the field of EM works for water treatment plants, pumping stations, etc., including power supply, transformers, high and medium voltage switch gear, motor control centres, variable speed drives, pumps, etc.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
  • Project performance requirements: Inspection, supervision and specialist advice during construction; review design specifications and method statements; fault finding and root cause analysis; factory inspection testing; review and witness commissioning and start up procedures; oversee testing on completion; review operation and maintenance manuals.
SURVEYOR (SUR)
  • Relevant degree in land surveying or equivalent.
  • Registration with the relevant Zambian professional body and a valid permit to set up benchmarks and to certify cadastral boundaries for the relevant Surveyor General authority.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction related industry.
  • Own equipment (complete with up to date calibration certificates).
  • Project performance requirements: Set out construction benchmarks to enable detailed setting out by the contractor; verify the location and marking of the primary control points; establish survey control systems; verify cadastral boundaries; surveys for quantity measurements; verify as-built surveys.
DOCUMENT CONTROLLER (DC)
  • Technical qualification (technical diploma or similar).
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in document control and document management systems (DMS) for large engineering projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and DMS.
  • Project performance requirements: Develop, operate and maintain a DMS; central control of all site documentation, drawings and communications; filing and retrieval of documentation; ensure document traceability; archiving.
WORKS INSPECTORS (WI)
  • Technical diploma in either civil engineering or electro-mechanical engineering.
  • At least 3 years of construction related experience in the capacity of works inspector, clerk of works or similar.
  • Computer literate and good working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Project performance requirements: Work under the supervision of a resident engineer; site inspections and supervision of construction works; ensure that works are constructed in accordance with specifications, drawings and safety requirements; witness testing and review results; measure quantities; preparation of documentation and reports.
