Manager – Pharmacy & Optical Businesses

Madison Health Solutions Limited, one of Zambia’s market leaders and pioneers in the administration and provision of Medical Schemes and health related products and services seeks to employ a Manager – Pharmacy & Optical Businesses on a 2 Year Renewable contract.
The Manager shall be responsible for the general and strategic functions of the pharmacy and Optical businesses as required by Madison Health Solutions Ltd.
Specifically the Manager shall be responsible for the following:
1.     General Management
This is the general day to day management of the pharmacy and optical businesses reporting to the Managing Director:
  • Ensure that the Company’s operations are efficient and effective as to advance the profit and other objectives of the company.
  • Ensure that the company’s processes and administrative environment remain efficient and effective at all times.
  • To meet the strategic objectives, targets, budgeted income and profits of the Company as agreed from time to time.
  • Continuously review the performance of the business and make recommendations to the Managing Director on measures to be taken for improvement.
  • Quality reporting and analysis, while making recommendations and advices to management and assisting with the implementation of these recommendations to improve performance
  • Ensuring that all internal and external audit recommendations are promptly and timely addressed.
  • Manage staff matters on the day to day basis
  • Manage submissions of weekly and monthly reports to the Managing Director on specific dates.
  • Take a lead in the preparation of strategic plans for the business.
2.     Marketing, Product Development and Distribution Channels.
  • Manage the registration of new products with the regulators
  • Develop and implement new distribution channels
  • Develop and implement new Strategic alliances
  • Do market research on lines products
3.     Financial and  Investment  Management
  • Provide sound and prudent financial and investment management.
4.    Capacity Building
  • Responsible for enhancing capacity in the staff for both the pharmacy and optical businesses
  • Ensure that staff training and development plans are in place and managed to the full expectations of the company
  • Train key personnel as way of transferring skills to enhance capacity in Staff
  • Motivating and inspiring the sales force to achieve management objectives in the expansion of both businesses
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in any business related course or ACCA/CIMA/ZICA
  • An MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Age between 35 and 40 years
  • Minimum 4 years work experience at senior management level
  • Experience in business development/retail trade/service industry
  • Good Analytical and Reporting Skills.
  • Experience in optical and pharmacy business will be an added advantage.
