Research Officer
Musika is an independent Zambian non-profit company affiliated to the Zambia National Farmers Union and supported by the Embassy of Sweden and the UK Government in Zambia to stimulate and support private sector investment in the smallholder and rural markets.
Musika invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced Zambian Nationals to fill the following position:
RESEARCH OFFICER
Key responsibilities
  • Conduct unique and relevant research regarding business models and trends in the agricultural market sectors
  • Design data collection tools for surveys and other data collection purposes in line with Musika results chains and measurement plans
  • Responding to ideas from the technical teams and proposing relevant research to support program and strategy development
  • Preparing and presenting reports on findings for internal and external audiences
Required Qualifications and Skills;
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences (Agricultural Economics), Economics, Development Studies, Demography or equivalent. Masters Degree in a related field is an added advantage
  • Good command of data analysis tools – STATA and Excel is a primary requirement. Proficiency in SPSS as a secondary tool will be an added advantage.
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • An ability to write clearly and coherently and articulate complex issues
  • Good team leading skills: designing and coordinating surveys, and spearheading the enumeration team will be part of the main responsibilities.
  • Previous experience conducting and managing research projects, evaluations and assessments in Zambia.
