Program & Communication Associate
Love Local is an enterprise development initiative designed to promote and support the Zambia clothing and fashion industry. The initiative aims to help the industry become more organized and competitive by fostering inter-enterprise linkages as well as collaborative relations with local and international markets.
Love local has a part time vacancy for the position of Program and Communication Associate. The position will report to the Project Manager and shall be responsible for the following duties;
- Assist in the development and implementation of program timelines to ensure timely completion of activities and deliverables.
- Assist in the monitoring of ongoing scopes of work to ensure accuracy of activities vis-à-vis contractual and grant commitments.
- Organize, Coordinate, conduct, and participate in programmatic meetings.
- Assist with meeting logistics to ensure effective implementation.
- Facilitate small and large group meetings and planning sessions.
- Participate in long and short-term program development and planning.
- Participate in positive, effective relationships with local and international partners.
- Develop PowerPoint presentations for use during program-related events and activities.
- Develop written and online tools and instruments for programmatic use including survey and evaluation tools.
- Develop regular and timely programmatic updates for the Web and reports to funders.
- Serve as programmatic liaison to external partners including representing Love Local at national and local meetings
- Monitor and make timely updates of all social media channels including facebook, twiiter, instagram.
- Provide written and verbal updates to Love local team on a monthly or time-sensitive basis.
- Write and develop – in collaboration with other staff – articles, publications, issue briefs, and reports.
- Scan and track relevant activities in the public media and related fields to inform the organization, its partners, and communities.
- Develop periodic “Updates from the Field” on content-related issues.
- Conduct bi-weekly environmental scans to identify meetings and conferences for love local participation.
- Conduct online and library research for articles, reports, and publications.

- Participate in strategic planning activities, including development of board meetings and activities.
- Assist with grant development and proposal writing.
- Adhere to administrative and recordkeeping guidelines to support accurate bookkeeping and

- Actively contribute to the advancement of the organization and its mission.
Qualification and experience
- A diploma in journalism, social work, marketing, Business administration or any other related field.
- Experience working in the fashion, retail or corporate sector.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a wide range of content including reports, speeches, plans, articles etc.
- Experience in managing social media
- A fashion for fashion.
Must have own transport and a valid driver’s license is an added advantage
