Web Developer

General Description of the Position
Responsible for designing and maintaining  Internet web sites using the latest and appropriate technology and techniques.
Main Duties
  • Carrying out duties as assigned by the Business Development Manager and Senior Web Developer
  • Creating and Maintaining logical structure of ZAMNET’s internet sites.
  • Liaising with clients on the conceptualization, specification, design implementation and maintenance of Internet sites.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Grade Twelve Certificate
  • Diploma in Computer Science or closely related field
  • Knowledge of PHP, HTTP or other relevant programming environments
  • Working knowledge of operating systems such as Win 98/WinNT/2000
  • A thorough knowledge of publishing from databases using appropriate interface software agents
  • Knowledge of the relevant internet services software including mail services (SMTP, POP, IMAP), information retrieval services (HTTP, SHTTP, FTP, News)
  • Knowledge of standard design methodologies
Personal attributes
  • Good general background in information Technology
  • Well personally motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a small team.
  • The ability to work to tight time schedules and within budget
  • Dynamic and pleasant personality with initiative
